Can someone give me the proper idle speed for the B7800. I just bought a used one and I'm idling at about 1000 rpm and I thought this to be high for
an idle speed. It seems to use a lot of fuel.

I have a B7800 and it idles at 1000 RPM. I found it doesn't use much fuel at all until I use the snow blower and punch it up to 2600 RPM- then it uses fuel:eek:

Would you say 4 Gal. in 3.5 hours at mostly idle is right. All I've done with
the tractor since I bought it is warm it up to move it out of my way then
warm it up and put it back. it was full when I bought it don't know if it was a winter mix or strait #2. Cleaned the air filter. It dose blow black smoke out when I start it. I put 4 Gal. of #2 fuel +treatment in I'll see what happens.

I would think 4 gallons in 3.5 hours of idling is too much

I use about 1 to 1.5 gallons/hr at full throttle.

My B7800 blows black smoke (white too when it is very cold) when it first starts up.

I use Power Service in the white bottle in winer and the silver bottle of Power Service in the summer.

I think you might want to check for fuel leakage

1000 rpm's is correct idle speed for the engine in B7800 and B2910 tractors. Using 4 gallons of fuel in 3.5 hour seems high. Are you sure tank was full when you started?

Yes I know the tank was full. I thinking it might have been a mix of #1 and #2
for the winter, that will burn faster. I'll just keep an eye on it and see what happens with the fuel and treatment I put in.
