I was looking at my manual and on one page it said "you have to operate a clutch to engage rear PTO". On next page it lists all the steps/safety issues without mentioning operating clutch. When I use PHD if clutch is depressed it's impossible to move PTO lever. But it moves and engages PTO without clutch. So, what is the proper way? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Use the clutch. You may have to let the clutch out one time to get gears moving so they will mesh and engage.
