in my long on going quest for a machine, i think i'm finally getting closer. i was looking at the 3 above mentioned models. seems like the 3030 and the 7800 are pretty much the same tractor except the 3030 has the more delux features. i was able to try out the 7800 in the dealers lot it felt super nice. i also tried a 7610, which is a bit smaller hp wise but i like the 7800 better, because of the 3 range trans and bigger loader cap. price wise the 7800 is a better buy than the other 2 by about 1k on the 2630 and 2k on the 3030. the bells and whistles on the 2630 and 3030 aren't a big deal as i'm looking for a working tractor not a sit in the garage to look pretty tractor. was wondering some thoughts on these choices. thanks jim

I use a B2910, which has just been replaced by the B3030 and there are some differences between the B7800 and B3030 that are functional rather than cosmetic. Now they may not mean a hill of beans to you, but the B3030 comes with position control instead of quarter inch valving, it has a mid-pto, it has a suspension seat and it has extendable lower links. I believe the loader on the B3030 is a new model with higher capacity (the B2910 and the B7800 share the same loader). For me, the position control on the 3pt and the suspension seat are worth the extra money; but the extendable lower links are worth twice the price difference if you change implements frequently (I had 3 implements on my tractor today in a 4 hour time span). But like I said the differences may not be something that you want or need.

I agree Bob, the 3030 is the way to go. The little "extras" will add up over the lifetime of the tractor.

Here is a thread asking a similar question. It has many comments from others on the differences. Click here
