I just got my first Kubota - an older B8200 2WD HST about a week ago. So far so good, but had a minor problem today. It won't shift into L or Mid range, only into Neutral or H (and the H doesn't really seem like H if you know what I mean) Prior to this I was lubing the parking brake and testing it, by rolling the tractor slightly back and forth in and out of gear.

I looked at the linkage and do have a question. The rod that you actually shift with has a parallel rod next to it that is just visible under the linkage cover. Are those two rods supposed to be connected? There's a bolt through one that extends to the other but there is no nut to lock them them together.

Lastly, a couple of safety questions - I have a finish mower with no guard on the PTO shaft. I guessing I can buy a replacement guard at TSC? Tractor came with a seat belt that was not attached. Where does it bolt to? It appears to be too short to attach to the ROPS.

Try working the HST pedal a little while trying to go into the different ranges.

Can't help with the linkage.
