I bought a 1987 B8200 last fall. As I have been reading the manual, I can't figure out what the purpose of the clear piece of plastic with a metal bracket surround that is on each side of the engine.

Can anyone tell me their purpose?

This isn't the best picture, but if you look real close you can see what he is talking about between the exhaust and the foot rest.

They almost look like diverters for heat from the fan and engine compartment. just my 2 cents /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
