:confused2::confused2:I am having difficulty with my hydraulic 3 point lift as the engine heats up. I do not have any other hydraulic hook ups. The problem gets progressively worse the longer the engine runs. After 2 hours of constant operation, it will not even lift the implement. I am hearing the longer it runs a high pitch intermittent sound from the hydraulic pump area - almost like a pulsing sound.

Once the engine sits over night or a couple of days the problem disappears for a while.;)

My fluid does appear to be a little milky in color on the dip stick after the tractor痴 been run for a few minutes which I presume means air entering the system. The problem gets worse the longer the tractor runs and can eventually deteriorate to the point it will not lift an implement.

When I clean the hydraulic filter/screen and change the fluid, the problem disappears for a while but returns after about 50 hours. What is the true source of the problem? Does anyone know the rubber hydraulic flex hose size, on the suction side of the pump, between the filter / screen and the hydraulic pump? I am wondering if this could have a small leak, but I see no fluid leaks there or anywhere else under the tractor.

Welcome to TBN:D

Sure sounds like you have a suction side leak...it will be hard to find because you won't see a drip anywhere (unless it's a major hole) in the large return lines. The noise you here is the pump cavitating-the longer you run it that way the more damage you are doing to the pump and that is costly to repair.

Do yourself a favor also, and take out your address and phone numbers...no need for personal info to be posted on a public forum;)

Hydro fluid milky in color, I would think water in the fluid.

You mention cleaning the screen, you mean the strainer, where you have to pull the banjo fitting on the side ot the tranny? You have removed and cleaned that strainer, AND replaced the hydro filter?

Does the tractor sit outside where it gets wet?

The problem probably goes away overnite, as the oil/water seperates.

Kept my B8200 in a shed...

Oh, as Kenny mentioned, may not want to post all your personal info across the internet...

Thanks guys for the response.

Tractor kept dry in a barn so, I doubt water is getting into it unless there is a potential for it to enter somewhere from the engine (but I have no loss of coolant).

I expect Kenny is right about the suction given the pump noise. I am thinking it could be a tubbing leak. Any idea about how I can look up the hydraulic tubbing size seen in the attached picture? Hate to pay a high price from Kubora for what appears to be a simple part.

Robert, yes to your question - I cleaned the fine metal screen (strainer) on the side of the transmission case. Reference attached picture showing location (big silver bolt head) so I know were referencing the same part. I understand this to be the only hydraulic filter on the B8200D - true?? I've looked all overthis simple engine for another filter and see none. Am I missing something you know to be there?

Again, every time I've cleaned the screen or strainer, the problem disappears for a while. When I do this, I loose all the hrdraulic fluid and just end up replacing it with new fluid. It only resolves the problem for 30 to 50 hours of use.

That is the strainer. Mine only had one hydraulic filter, up under the fender.

That hose definitely looks like it's worth replacing. Guessing it may be original; a B8200 is a 1984-86 manufacture(mine was a '85).

You might want to search this site for "splatter test" or "spatter test". A way to find out if it is water in the fluid. Might also try to drain a cup or two, and see if there is any hrdro-fluid/water seperation. At least to rule out water intrusion.

Thanks Robert. It is the orignal hose (1986). Which fender - right / left from drivers seat? I presume it would look like a screw on oil filter, or is it something like the fuel filter size (quite small on this tractor). If it's large like a oil filter, I am sure I've seen nothing like it on the tractor.

I'll try the idea of draining some fluid and seeing if anything seperates out of it.

Robert, Where can I find out what size hose that is?

Hydro filter should be on the left side, kinda below the fender/body behind the left rear tire. It is a large screw on automotive style filter. Imagine looking up under the fender and body, looking up towards the PTO shift lever. It is much lager than the fuel filter.

There should be four filters total on the tractor. The air filter, under the hood. The fuel filter, at the back right of the engine, visible thru the body panel. Oil filter is below the muffer/exhaust manifold. The Hydro filter is on the left side of the tractor, kinda of in front of the left rear tire, up under the fender/body.

For the hose, I am not sure; I would check with a dealer. I get parts from a local independant; he has helped me out with the B8200 when I had it. Otherwise, take that hose off and go to NAPA... I was able to get tune-up, belts, filters for the B8200 and the '41 Farmall I used to have, from NAPA.

Wish could help more; My owner manual and service manual went with the tractor when I sold it almost a year ago.

those manuals are still available. The owner manual had filter and fluid info; it is about $16. The service manual though, is expensive.

I still have pictures of the B8200 at home. I will see if any show where the Hydro filter is.

Thanks Robert. It is the orignal hose (1986). Which fender - right / left from drivers seat? I presume it would look like a screw on oil filter, or is it something like the fuel filter size (quite small on this tractor). I found a picture...

The Hydro filter is accessed from under the left fender. It is basically in front of the battery.
I think I had the left rear tire off for this picture. But, you can easily get to the filter with the tire on.

There's a reason I keep old pictures... :D

I may have missed something, but did Bill say he had a hydro tranny? My B8200D is a gear tractor, and doesn't have a spin on hydraulic filter, just the screen insert.
