Until Oscar gets bigger, you might be concerned about coyotes jumping in or digging in to get him. They love baby pigs when no sow is around to protect him.

I'm still having a mental debate on the fence for Oscar's next home. What I'm struggling with is how eleborate to make it. I hate fencses that are build for the task at hand, but not able to handle anything else. Even worse is a fence that was built with low cost materials and it starts to fall apart. I also don't want to creat the Taj Mahal of fences. Right now, I'm leaning towards No Climb fence. I'm single, live alone and don't have a clue what my fugure holds. A fence that can hold a horse is something that I may want some day in the future. Or goats or dogs. And maybe even another pig or two.

I want it to be secure, safe and long lasting. I also want it to be nice looking and to ad value and appeal to my home.

I just don't want to spend the money on it!!!! LOL

A friend of mine gave me a pumpkin the other day. I figured what the heck, I'll see if Oscar likes pumpkins and break it open for him. He did his normal, curious sniff and run around routine before digging into it. Turns out he loves pumpkin and especially their seeds!!!!

One of my friends on Facebook saw the pictures of Oscar enjoying the pumpkin and wanted to give him theirs. Her daughter has never seen a real pig before, and was dying to meet Oscar. They thought that Oscar might like some corn on the cob, so they brought a couple of ears for him.

At first, he did his normal sniff and dance around it, but once he got a tast of it, he LOVED it!!!!

For a perspective on how big he's gotten, she's 16 years old, 5ft all and claims to weigh 100 pounds. I think she's closer to 80 pounds, but who's to argue with teenagers. :)

After feeding Oscar, and a ride around the place on the Mule, she went fishing in my small pond. It full of channel catfish that are growing bigger and bigger without anybody to take them out.

So if any of you want to meet Oscar, you might want to bring some corn on the cob and your fishing pole. White breat squeezed around the hook works very well for bait!!! :D:thumbsup:

She caught two catfish. First one was 4 pounds. The next one broke the 12 pound line. I don't know if it was just too big for that size fishing line or if it hit the bait so hard that it just snaped it. Either way, it was a big fish. The catfish in the pictures above is 9 pounds. It's the biggest fish she's ever caught by a very large margin!!!!

She caught it herself, and dragged it from my dock, onto the ground. Once it was out of the water, I took over and got the hook out. I tried to get her to hold it for pictures, but it was too heavy for her. That's when I got the idea to hang it from my porch kind of like they do Marlins in Mexico!!

It was fun.

Chris,

Just between you and me, Oscar has been a big surprise at how well he's proven to be a chick magnet!!!!!! They ask about him, then want to come over and see him in person. If there are any single guys out there, forget about puppies and kittens, get a pig!!!!!!!!!!

Eddie, the look on her face with the fish hanging in front of her is priceless. That's the same as Kathy's "I'll catch it, but I ain't gonna touch it!" look.
