Yes. I had one that I bought from Atwoods that looked kind of like a drinking water jug and food dish on it. I had to drill holes into my concrete and screw it down, then strap it to the post to keep Oscar from tearing it apart. As he grew, his weight and strength became too much for it, and he busted it to little pieces.
I made that feeder for the deer and put it in a tree. The deer never touched it, and I lost interest in trying to find something for them to eat out of it that they really liked. It's been sitting empty for about two years, and totaly forgotten by me until I saw it while out mowing right after Oscar had destroyed the other feeder.
I'm hoping that schedule 40 PVC is strong enough for him. I have it screwed into the concrete and the two straps. I'm thinking about two more straps just to stay ahead of him in his scratching/rubbing on everything.
We just spent the last six hours out spraying all my grass with Oscar chasing me around the entire time. Now he is sound asleep. He really crashes when he's tired. Nothing will wake him up for a few hours, so I'm thinking it's a great time to get some painting in. If he's awake when I paint, he will rub off the paint and leave mud there instead!!!

So I should get a pig to keep the Old Lady or to get a New Lady?
Later,
Dan
As a kid, we fed our pigs in homemade wooden troughs. The troughs seemed to last for years. I don't remember what kind of wood they were made of, might have been pine. Basically, you took a couple 2x12s and screwed them together lengthways at a 90 degree angle to make a v-shaped trough. Screw a approx. 2' long 2x12 on each end to close in the trough and keep the trough sitting upright and you're done. Since the troughs were kept outside, the wood swelled and formed a tight seal that could hold water. Eddie, you could make one in about 5 or 10 minutes.Yes. "Chick magnet" must mean all chicks, yours & others, will come closer & closer to you.
Of course your Old Lady will get madder & madder.
Maybe pigs should only be kept by single guys?

Sounds like a solid simple design, but I've seen pix of Eddie's work. Somehow I just can't envision him making something that plain looking.
