Back Blade

It's an old truck plow with a manual angle attachment. All I did was cut 2 holes in the back of the bucket that the plow horns go thru and are pinned in the back of the bucket. A chain attaches from the plow to the bucket hook to keep it from falling forward. It can attach in less than 5 minutes.

When I'm done for the season I take it off and use 4 pieces of steel with a 5/8" bolt thru the middle and sandwich the hole between the 2 pieces of steel.

I liked the photo of your blade-on-the-bucket setup. Could you possibly send a photo(s) of how it's attached?

A 7 footer is what you want. If you want the ability to move more snow with it then face it backwards and attach a piece of 2-3" angle iron across the top edge. To this, bolt a 12" wide piece of 3/4" plywood to give the plow that much more height. In deep snow, a lot will often go over the top of a normal rear blade. You would be suprised at the "mountains" you can move with that plywood added to the top. Dont worry about the plywood breaking. I have had the same piece on my blade more than 20 years and more "blizzards" than I can remember. Most all the load is on the bottom edge of the blade.

I think your tractor should handle the 7' blade no problem. I have a B7510 and use a 6' rear blade driving forward. It works as long as I plow before the snow gets too deep. Just make windrows and when they get too big move them with the FEL or back up with the blade doing short pushes. I can make about 3.5-4' piles of snow just by pushing with the blade. Then again I only have about 350' to plow and certainly wouldn't want to do 1/4 mile.
