I have a 1995 863 F series Turbo Bobcat. Would like to find out if the backhoe attachment is worthwhile or not?
I use the 863 for many tasks and with a heavy duty grapple on the front, it excels at fence row cleanup. Would like to use the backhoe attachment for stump removal. Not digging down more than 4 or 5 feet at most but my 863 balks at pushing over any sizable stumps. When taking down a tree, I leave a tall stump, say around 4 or 5 feet and then use leverage and the 73 hp's available to push and work the stump out.

Digging out the bigger stumps would save wear and tear on my pins, hoses and my teeth as it rattles me quite bit. Thanks everyone.

You won't have any HP problem running a backhoe. HP available and required at front auxiliaries is only 28 HP if running at full throttle, but that makes the backhoe almost to fast to control. Add rear stabilizers if possible to help in keeping backhoe from pulling the machine into the hole.

Thank you. Are they hard to find used? Also do you know the model number for the backhoe or is there more than one? Thank again.

I think it's the 811. I had an 863 c and it used the 811. You will need the hooks that bolt to side of the frame and that's it. Runs off of low flow. Rear stabilizers help a lot but it will work fine without it. Very strong attachment.

The 811 was the more common model used on 853/863, same locking brackets used on both loaders. 709 was also used but it is a little lighter and shorter reach. If searching the used market, hopefully you can find one that had been use on the same model loader (853 or 863) the locking frames that bolt to the loader could run $1k set.

Note: the 8811 will not work. It is made for the newer machines having 2 tilt cylinders, with the center tilt cylinder of the 863 it will not lock down.
NEVER use a backhoe attachment without locking it to the loader main frame.

I bought a used Bradco HD9, that had a mount for a new holland. It was in nice shape. Took a while to even find the mount for the 7753, eventually I did bought it new. Cost as much as the hoe. I bought it for trenching, I have not used it much. Should be able to sell for twice what I got ito it. Was a bit of a project, i would do it again. Haven't used it for stumps. How I have been removing stumps, is I have a bracket that holds the pallet forks togather, dig around the stump, push it over. With tracks on the loader it doesn't work real hard. Up until I bought the hoe I would trench with them, but can only go down 3 foot. Works great for drain tile.
