Can a JD backhoe (260) be added to a 1025r that did not have one from the factory?

Depends on what you consider heavy work ? I installed a complete septic system using the BH on my little SCUT. I was able to do it on time off from work, evenings for an hour or two, etc... I basically paid for the cost of the BH (I saved over $5000) doing it myself. I looked into renting a track hoe / mini excavator for a month... would have cost almost $4000.... not worth it.
I have found a LOT more projects that I have done with it... I can just jump on it and go do it....
I don t disagree that you can do a lot with them. In your case if you was able to rent the excavator and actually get the job done in a day the rent would not be $4000. More like $400. If you had to pay someone to do the septic system then I agree you saved some money. But in your case you have other projects to do and the convenience factor makes since. I am not trying to step on anyoneç—´ toes. I just see people buying a small machine thinking they can do the work of a larger machine to only be disappointed or use the equipment for one project and not use it again. I am all about owning toys with no justification for having them. Just be realistic of machine capabilities.
I do not have one, but it is a option.
I am concerned about how little the 1025r lifts up the belly mower.
