Backhoe Backhoe attachments for Kubota B7500

Hi Gang, Trying to get info on purchasing a good backhoe for my Kubota B7500 tractor. Wondering on the mounting of the backhoe, which would be the best system. Mounting to the 3 pt or the under carriage mounting system? Also, what brands do I have to choose from that would be best for my machine? There is a Woods Groundbreaker 6500 out there without mount for $3500 and a Great Bend 651 that mounts to the 3 Pt. Anyone have knowledge and suggestions?

Hello Davey,

Welcome to TBN. I have a B7500 also and bought a small Wood Maxx backhoe attachment last fall. The price brand new was pretty good and it had free shipping. If you're someone who uses bigger, commercial type backhoes you'll probably be disappointed with the speed and operation of this unit but it works just fine for my purposes so far which was trenching to my pole barn for an electric line and digging out many birch tree stumps. This is a 3 point unit with it's own hydraulic pump (a necessity with the B7500) that mounts directly on the tractor spline, so install and removal of the hoe is fairly quick and easy. If you decide to buy a 3 point backhoe for your tractor there are 2 Kubota items you should get. One is a reinforced 3 point top link bracket, P/N 70050-00540, and a B4681 support frame kit which will help minimize any twisting of your aluminum cased transmission.

I bought the Woods BH6000 for my B7510 last spring and don't regret it for a second. I went with the sub-frame assembly based on advice from this site. The backhoe can certainly throw my tractor around and I did not want the risk of doing some serious damage. I know there are 3 point units out there but for me it was 4 point. I agree with Zman, if you are use to commercial backhoes there are differences, but I have not found them to be a problem. The Woods does not use a separate hydraulic pump but ties in to the tractors. I purchased a new old stock hoe so I got a better price and did the install myself. It is not that complicated and the instructions are clear.
I have heard that Wallenstein make a good hoe as well.
Which ever way you go you will find lots of uses and can take your time and do the jobs you want when you want. Here is a pic of the hoe on my machine.

Zman, Thank you for your quick response and for the needed info. I have used larger units in the past but needed something small to transport to my 2 properties where I do small needed jobs to help keep expenses down. I'm mainly looking to make life easier as I reach my golden years. I know bigger is better in many cases but looking to keep things simple as it seems you are as well. Thanks for the advice. This is truly a great site and I am glad to be a new member and hope I can contribute in the future as well.

Scotty, thanks for the info. After reading some of the statements in other threads about 3 Pt attachments and sub-frames, I was concerned about damaging my machine so thought I should ask for some assistance on this site. Thanks for the advice. One question I do have is about the ground space and the sub-frame? Do you find it a problem at all? I have read that there is not much room to play with. What are your thoughts?

DaveyD, you lose no ground clearance with the 4 point hitch. I will post a picture if I have a good one. The 4 point sub frame stays attached to the tractor and actually adds a nice bit a weight giving improvement when doing loader work, or when I use my 3 point snowblower.This pic shows the rear wheels removed and the subframe attached, with still lots of ground clearance.

Thanks Scotty, I appreciate the picture. It does look very stable and I can see where it would help with the extra weight. The picture shows clearly that there is no loss of ground clearance. Thanks again for the help.

Scotty, what is the make and model of the subframe kit in the picture. I have the B7510 and need to beef up the frame. I have the kubota 4672 backhoe already but recently broke the lifting arms on the tractor. To much backhoe weight for the three point set up. I know and am looking for a complete subframe kit the will upgrade my tractor and backhoe to a four point set up. Thanks

The subframe kit is from Woods, model # is 1010613 for the Woods BH6000 backhoe. I could have installed the heavy duty top link but opted to go with the 4 point mount and she is rock solid. I have to keep the rpms at or below 1500 or I bounce the whole back end of the tractor around. Not sure if this will work with the Kubota 4672, but I am sure it can be modified to fit.
