Question for you Billy, how much of a pain is it getting in and out of the cab to work on the hoe? I have a cab Kioti and have just about given up on the idea of a hoe because of the inconvenience of getting in and out. I've looked at mini excavators but wow, they are expensive.

It is somewhat of a pain but so is digging the ditch with a garden shovel :D
If I'm in wide open territory, I usually leave the door open. If I'm in close quarters, I close the door everytime. Then again, if it's raining and you want to finish that dig, you simply open the rear cab window and you have an instant roof over your head ;) . I sometimes take the neighbor boy along and he drives the tractor and I stay on the hoe :) .

Does the seat on the 3030 spin around? I didnt think it did, but do you think one could be fabbed up? Ive read many times over, in just a few days so I missed more, about how the seats suck. If so, does the back window open still clear the backhoe operation area? (like, does it get in the way of the boom?) I could remove the solid glass window in the summer and put a rollup window there, with an extension from the roof to provide shade and some rain protection (prolly shouldnt use the hoe in the rain any ways..) Just some thoughts.

Im interested in the cab version, very much so, but I dont know if I want to drop the big bucks on it. I know it will be an investment, cuz my dad still drives his old '41 case around and uses it to backdrag all the work I did with a loaner Case 580L (12 years old). ****, even at the campgrounds where my grandparents spend their summers they have a compact TLB, but closer to the L39 size, that does all their work for the past 20+years.

Again tho, is it top heavy to you? I was a nationally ranked power lifter a few back, but the Army changed that, so I have plenty of weight plates around. Think a few 55's on one side would help if I knew my angles?

Thanks for your help, and I wish I could get your exact setup there, its a nice TLB

I had the same questions when I bought my 3520 Cab. I sent an e-mail to Woods and they e-mailed an owners manual to me showing how the BH is mounted. I would give that a try. They are quick to answer and very helpful.

No the seat does not spin around; the 3pt backhoes have their own seat. I suspect that even with the rear window removed and a spinning seat you would be to far from the hoe controls if there were any leg room to sit.

I think Kendall69 has it right and liabilities are what keep Kubota from offering the backhoe as an option. They don’t recommend filling the tires on a cab tractor because of the added weight in the event of a roll over.

First of all, welcome to this site that has a wealth of experience with anything with moving parts and beyond! One other issue of your future TLB; Kubota 3030, if you plan on trailering it, is the departure angle with the hoe mounted farther aft of the rear wheels on the cab models--- when backing off the trailer, scraping the lower boom section may result? Some of the manufactures will list that info also degrees? But you may also back the tractor on the trailer to prevent this?
