In your first picture, it appears that the BH is subframe mounted and that the front edge of the subframe is sitting on the concrete. Is this right? Do you ballance the BH such that the front of the subframe is an inch above the concrete so you can move it around? That's th part that has got me confused.

That is a very nice looking dolly setup though. I like the spoked steel wheels, make it look very old and sturdy. Thanks for the follow up pictures.

No! The front of the sub frame does not hit the concrete,there is at least 3"of clearance. I weigh 170#, and can stand on the end of sub frame with no problem. If I jump on the end,the BH bucket will jump on the other end. When rolling the backhoe around,there is absolutely no stability problems.

very nice setup I was thinking about building somthing simmular you saved me allot of brain cells
