Backhoe Backhoe for Mahindra 6000 2wd.

Hello, I have been a long time reader on this site and a first time poster. I would like to thanks everyone for all the helpful info that helped me out countless times in the past with my 2002 6000 2wd. I have a question and hope someone can help me out. I have a 2wd 6000 and I would like to get a backhoe for it, the Mahindra web site does not lists a backhoe attachment for a 2wd. What are the choices do I have for a backhoe (sub frame, 3pt, brands.....)??? Thanks.

Do you have a FEL? That will be necessary to offset the
weight of a backhoe.

How heavy is your tractor? Weight will determine how big
of a b/h it can handle.

IMO, you should fab a subframe for whatever you get, unless
it is small and you have a heavy Cat 2 3-pt.

S/S: The Bradco hoes are made for the Mahindras. The subframe that comes with them replaces part of the FEL frame (front part of the BH subframe bolts up to the rear part of the FEL frame mount. Of course you could put a Woods 7500 on the rear and hook it up to the 3pt and possibly use a PTO pump (I'd recommend that anyway). However, if you go with anything other than the Bradco you may have some trouble with sizing to the rear of the tractor. I've got a '02 6000 myself. Unbeknownst to the dealer, Mahindra/Bradco changed the rear drawbar set up in '03 (or so) when Bradco did the engineering for the Mahindras. It's "shorter" than the one you have on your '02 so the BH won't fit (with PTO pump/resevoir) until the drawbar frame is replaced. It's no big deal to replace it but you need to advise your dealer that Mahindra will have to send the new one (their cost) if you go that way. Good luck! BobG in VA

S/S: One other note...Which FEL do you have? Two companies made FELs for Mahindra back then. KMW which is the current provider, and Great Bend. If you get the Bradco hoe, the subframe kit comes with BOTH the hookup pieces so no matter what FEL you have, it will work. Hopefully you have the KMW as Great Bend has been bought out and is no longer in business (I don't think anyway...) BobG in VA

Thanks, everybody for the info. I am not sure which brand is my FEL, how can you tell which brand? I do not recall seeing any label on mine. So the Wood 7500 is the way to go then. Do you know why Mahindra is not listed a backhoe for the 6000 2wd on their web site??? Thanks.

I don't think I have ever seen a 'hoe on a 2wd Mahindra...

S/S: The KMWs have a small sticker on them. Get out your manuals that came with the tractor. You should have a manual for the loader, ie. how to take it off/put it on etc. Personally, I'm not pushing the Woods. I'd go with the Bradco. I'm sure they can set you up. At least you will have some manufacturer's back up for the Bradco. BobG in VA

Woods has a backhoe mount that fits the 6000 2wd.

Well, looks like the 6000 with ML260 loader weighs 6000-6500
lbs and that can easily handle a b/h in the the 7.5-ft digging
depth class. Getting or fabbing a subframe is the issue. This
class is well served by:
