Backhoe Mount Failure on Ford 2120

/ Backhoe Mount Failure on Ford 2120 #11
I just bought a 2000 Ford 2120 with backhoe.
When I used it Saturday some welds broke on the mounts. These appear to be the only connecting parts between the tractor and backhoe. Is there something missing, or if not, is this a common failure, and what is the suggested repair?

Did you connect the outer top link? All subframe mounts (as far as I know) have three points of connection to the tractor, the two lower frame connections you've photographed as failed, and the outer top link (the upper connection on a three point hitch).

No other link that I know of, and someone advised that is correct.

Just a follow-up, I had it welded this past weekend, and it was pointed out to me that it is missing a 3rd link, which may have prevented the failure. The welder is going to source a 3rd link for me as well. (Jedjoe was right!)

I am looking to buy an ignition key, owners and services manuals (CD/DVDs would be ok) and some Ford New Holland blue spray paint. Anyone have any good 'net sources?

I am also looking for a york rake with wheels, but local to zip code 03448 or 01095 would be best.

Thanks!

When you get your manuals, report back on what the backhoe manual says about a top link. I'd be very interested. Or post your hoe model and I'll check myself. Thanks.

Just a quick follow-up, I have not ordered the manuals yet, but have used the backhoe with the repaired welds and 3rd link in place without issue.

Where would the backhoe model number be found?

Under Hydraluc Systems in Three Point Linkage at the following link, you can see a view of the top/third link: http://www.messicks.com/NH/67808.aspx

Nice. I know what a toplink is. I'm trying to find out what model backhoe you have so I can verify that use of a top link is inappropriate for that machine on a 2120.

But it isn't my hoe or tractor, so if you want to install a top link because somebody thinks it is a good idea, have at it. 4 months later, my interest is dwindling.

May be going out on a limb , but in looking at images of a 2120 , w/o looking up specs , seems to be at least as big as my TC 30 . With a 757C B.H. sub-frame mount on my TC 30 , It does require a 3'rd link , a.k.a. Top link to be used . A model number though like Rick suggested would be nice .

2120 is more in line with a tc45

Wish op would provide some sort of B.H. model or maybe even a picture from farther back , thus a better view . That big a tractor , would think that it is either sub-frame mount or 3 point , both likely needing a top link or at least a 3rd anchor point ?????

In this picture , Assuming it is a 758b model ( says it is ?? ) , although not the " top Link " connection , there are still the " 3rd " arms coming from sub-frame up under seat area thus tying the B.H. more together .

Couple of other pictures , second is were you would ' Find " info on type of B.H. , if it is still attached .
