I am interested in getting a backhoe for the TX25. I contacted the vendors listed on the Summit website and none of them carry the backhoe. Do we have to buy it directly from Summit? Do they ever offer discounts or sales on it? $8000 is a bit steep, $6000 seems more reasonable. Are the third party, 3pt attachment backhoes a good option? Has anyone here used one of them?

I came here hoping for an answer to this. I have a TX25H but I would like to buy a third party backhoe, not from Summit for what they want for it.

Seems like for that kind of money you could pick up a small used trackhoe that would probably do the job better without handicapping the little tractor in its other uses.

For under 10K delivered you can get a decent mini excavator with a Kubota 902 engine - weighs about 3500Lbs and are decent machines for non commercial use. Security Measure

You can get 1 ton units with gas engines for $4K delivered.

Check with a Woods implement vendor. You need a sub frame that comes with the backhoe to attach to.

DO NOT get any kind of a 3pt hitch attachable backhoe. That is a disaster waiting to happen, not if, just when.

The subframe is key.. it reinforces your cut frame… without it you could easily cause major damage if you are not careful.
