Backhoe Backhoe question and advice

/ Backhoe question and advice #11
Here is a link to Lynn's other post in the Case/IH Forum. That post sheds a little more light on the issues. Lynn is not only trying to find the best tractor, but also trying to find the best combination for finish mowing and a backhoe. I suggested he post in these general forums so he would get a lot wider range of experience. Since I don't have experience with a backhoe or a finish mower, I knew I could only talk in generalities. I hope Lynn can find more details to help with his decision in this forum.

Lynn, I have the NH TC30 and own both the BushHog backhoe with subframe mount and a mmm mower. As others have stated switching from bh to 3ph is no problem. Switching to mmm is going to be a bigger job. Just had the mower mounted so haven't tried it myself yet. First to go from bh to mmm, all 4 of the bh subframe mounting brackets will have to come off, then the mounting brackets etc for the mmm go on. Maybe someone who has taken a mmm mower (and brackets) off and on could tell both of us how big a job that is.

You should look at the Woods backhoes, they offer a couple of models for this tractor all are subframe types.

If I can generalize.....a MID-MOUNT finish mower will almost always interfere with at least the front tractor-side bracket of a subframe hoe. A THREE-POINT finish mower often will not interfere with the rear tractor-side bracket of a subframe. With that in mind, I have installed a Woods factory subframe on a Kubota once (not the newer 4-pt Woods mounts) where the rear tractor-side bracket kept you from using the 3-pint at all. Not very convenient.

The new 4-pt Woods mounts don't have that problem.
