Yes! Most backhoes have a valve exterior to the tractor and on the hoe. When disconnecting the hoe the valve goes with it disrupting the hydraulic fluid flow. So if you don't connect those lines it just pumps the fluid out on the ground. AT HIGH PRESSURE!
Most FELs have the valve on the tractor and aren't removed with the FEL so fluid flow is not disrupted.
