**** backhoe's are expensive

We all value tools, tasks and time differently, but I've done things in the last six months of having this BH that I simply could not have done without it. Before the 'just rent it' gang gets going, I don't have a rental place close enough or the ability to transport anything of any size.

It cost $540 a day more if the delivery is very far to rent the full size TLB that I own. $540 is way too expensive for something not urgently needing done so without owning equipment it’s just not getting done. I’ve owned my machine about a year now and could sell it for full price likely a profit. Renting is money I’d never see again. I drive a 90s and 2000s vehicle to afford my TLB and don’t have some useless rv, fishing boat, or luxury truck. Half the anti backhoe crowd probably own all 3 yet somehow the backhoe is a waste of money.

If we were really trying to solve a real problem of Rent vs Buy a XXXXX machine I guess this might be different.

It should be whatever a guy wants and can afford.

Everyone has different ways of looking at it.

To each his own.

My cars are both mid 90s models. When I bought them 15 years ago, I paid less than half of what their original selling prices would have been.

Yesterday, I decided I wanted to dig something. After 15-20 minutes of lining up and making connections, I was digging. I couldn't have even looked up phone numbers and called for rates and scheduling in that time.

You could not possibly have outlined my exact situation more accurately.

I have had a Ford 3400 TLB for 33years. It is a 1970 model.

People have often asked me why do I have a TLB? My answer is, because I WANTED IT!
Sadly though, the Ford will now be sold.
Why?
Because just this week I picked up my new to me 250 hour 2006 Kubota L48.
Why?
Because I am 78 years old, and I WANTED IT!
What a sweet machine it is.
