backorder experience?

I placed an order for a CK20HST FEL, Kioti RFM, and BH in the middle of March, I finally received the RFM Tuesday (claimed it had to be shipped from a dealer in CA) and had the BH installed today. Yes, 14 weeks waiting for this. both the dealer and I were calling Kioti on a regular basis. I had heard from the dealer and Kioti that this order was to have been ready at the end of May. I later found that the order was never processed for shipping until the middle of June and then only through pressure did they ship it via Conway Express (CCX).

Now I get to play (work) in the dirt tomorrow. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

It is sounding like they are starting to get more of the orders out, my dealer said that he has now received 2 other orders this week.

Be patient, good things come to those that wait.
Kioti is a good thing.

If they would ship all through Con-way,, they would not have any trucking problems!!

I actually heard a news report on the radio tonight (long drive - bad traffic jam) that was reporting a trucking company trying to hire "hundreds" of new drivers. The fellow in the report was stating that there is a big shortage of truck drivers right now. It does seem possible that between their move and a potential trucking shortage that these delays were unavoidable. I'm sure they'll get it figured out. Heck - if I was Kioti's boss I'd just buy my own trucks and start the machines moving again. They already build from top to bottom - they might as well make their own trucks too!

Good Luck - I'll bet waiting is driving you all nuts. When I ordered my tractor I had to wait a week for the HD bucket... so I feel your pain /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Of course, it's been 10 years since we were full time RVers, but we traveled all over the country and I bought local newspapers nearly everywhere we went, and I can't recall ever seeing a newspaper that didn't have ads for drivers wanted.

They only did this after the dealer and I were told many times by Kioti that the order was being shipped in a few days. Based on those promises I made a commitment to do some work for my FIL. (Yes, I should have waited for the the BH to actually be installed, but I was told the order would have been here the end of May and he lives 2 hrs away.) The dealer ended up talking to his rep, explained the situation to him before Kioti would ship via Conway due to it being a more expensive option.

I ended up doing the work without the BH since it had not arrived when I said that I would do the work. We ended up doing the BH work by hand which cost me about 5 hrs of time and the job not being done exactly as I wanted.

My dealer and I agree:

Maybe in due time /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I've had a rear hydraulic kit on back order for my LK3054xs for over a month now. Today, I got an email from my dealer saying he'll be by this week to pick up the tractor to get the kit installed and a couple of small (not Kioti's fault) problems fixed.

Stuff from Kioti is moving, just slowly. And my experience with the dealer has been very good thus far.

Hang in there.

It is the "trickle down effect" we order - it trickles out.

I have the answer to running out of equipment. Bring the prices up to where they should be and never have to worry about restocking, trucking, tires, assembly, lost backorders (or ignored on purpose), only paint fade.

Ok I am tired long hot day and spent till 9pm tonight out making deliveries. They what their rigs now. And heck have to race home from church tomorrow load up and deliver other stuff and change out a defective tire yada, yada, yada.

His explanation to me was that the tractors were ready, but Kioti is having trouble with the shipping company getting all the tractors out.

Skitch, You may want to ask your dealer if he can send his truck to pickup at the Kioti facility or use a common carrier to bring the tractor to him and arrange the shipping himself. We are a Kioti dealer and handle most of our inbound that way with no problems.--Ken Sweet

Actually, he may be arranging the freight himself, but I don't know for sure. He did say that he likes to get 4 tractors on a truck to save on freight (which is just good business). It costs the same to run a full truck as a partial load.

There is another option for me if the delays get out of control. He has a LK3054XS on the lot, but it has a FEL. I could always ask him to take the loader off and deliver that tractor. I know he wanted to order one from Kioti w/out a loader. It saves him time and money if he can get one direct w/out having to take the time to remove the installed loader.

For me personally, I don't mind waiting for anything as long as I have a realistic idea of when to expect it. As has been said before, anything worth having is worth waiting for...

After having a loader on my present tractor, I couldn't imagine NOT having one. Maybe you should just get the one with the loader on it. You won't be sorry you did. John
