Backpack Blowers

If you are use to walking around all day with 25 # (this is what mine weights) hanging on your back you should be ok.. After about 2 hrs of constant use.. I take a break

FWIW, Stihl offers a padded hip belt as an option on their backpack blowers and foggers to relieve back strain. I have the belt on my BR600 and use it for any "extended" session of blowing. The stock hip pad on the bottom of the blower gets swapped out for the belt. Stilh also offers a chest belt.

I have a handheld blower that does a good job, but even though I am a fairly big guy, hanging on to them with one hand doesn't work long as I need to switch hands very often. I need to consider one of those backpack blowers but never used one. The question is, are they fatiguing?????/

Yes, but not as bad as a regular blower. Walking around with one of these for 2 hours is tiring, but walking around with a hand held for 8 hours is harder.

Not much since the weight is balanced and your arms aren't taking the weight. Much less fatigue and certainly less than a hand held used for a much longer time t get the same job done.

I have a husky ,,best use for it is cleaning eaves or gutters , i use an old down pipe with an elbow on top end as an extension,,just walk around house , no climbing ladders,,also burning brush

Y'all have got me wanting one. Did very little leaf blowing this year. Used mulching blades and chopped everything up but.... It's always nice to have new toys.

I use my Stihl blower to clear snow off the deck and walk ways.
Depending on the snow it works a whole lot faster than a shovel.
Also makes de-cobwebbing the barn and delouseing the work shop a
Breeze. Oops, pardon the pun.

I've had my BR600 since 2010 and it is awesome. Makes "sweeping" out garages easy too.

Thanks for posting. Have to check that out next time I go to my dealer for something.

Something else I thought about is hearing protection. I try to preserve what I have left by wearing both foam plugs and a good headset.
