There is a backup alarm option from Kubota for the L39. I suspect if you bought the kit from a dealer it would have instructions. I think there is a connector in the wiring already on the tractor for the alarm. My L39 has one, which I disconnected. My tractor and manual are at some property I own in northern Michigan and it will be a couple of weeks before I am back up there. If no one else responds before then, I will post some pictures.

Here's the pages from the parts manual on the backup buzzer. Looks like there is a switch that goes in the console that may not be there unless you have the kit. (Sorry about the zip file, there is no pdf printer on this computer)

Why does that mean you need the alarm?

OSHA requires all m/v have backup alarm on contruction sites

Because it is something that is easy to check and you will get fined without one.

I would very much prefer to be run over in reverse and killed swiftly than to be annoyed to death over the course of years by the backup alarms.
