Reversing the blades is now looking like a good thing.... easiest anyway.. from an 'onlooker' point of view..

I bought a used one about 10 years ago, not knowing it was a reverse PTO model, and it did have the 18 spline female pto. I had a parts deck that was my father's and was the correct rotation. Swapped the pto shaft and took a blade with me to order new blades. I started mowing and the blade bolts would not stay in. Swapped spindles too and fixed the problem. The blade bolts for standard pto rotation are left hand thread.
Just wondering did you have a problem with the belt tensioner? the guy at Woods told me the tensioner was different depending on the direction of rotation.Looking more and more like Im screwed.You dont need another backwards mower do you?cheap /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Never had any trouble with mine. I think they are both the same but I could be wrong. I still have them both and will let you know. You might be able to sell it on the yahoo mitsubishi club.

The Woods guy was correct. The tighteners are on opposite sides. Maybe that's why I went through a belt a year. Gave my old rfm away Saturday. One spindle was broken and everything else was plumb wore out.
