Some times life is funny. Bony & dog were gone, Had some old boneless pork chops so I gave them to Bobby. She ate all but 1 & took it in on the bed (boy that sure made me happy.) When dog & bony came home she growled when the even went in the house.
Even growled when 1 of them even started towards the bedroom.

Ticks. Bobby has a spot on her neck that you could cover with the palm of your hand. Get lots of them out of there every day. Some so small they are hard to see. now & then a female on her back. Bony just came in & she had 2 on her back. Think Bobby has some eggs on her, & bony goes some where that they live???

Wanted to go to bank today & cancel CC & get temp + mail the old TV back. Nope a little rain this AM, just enough to soak up TV box. Maybe it will never dry out for a long while???

From Joy to Frustration,
Window AC came yesterday. Damm it is heavy Only 40# but big square box. Used hand truck to get in the house Got it un-packed, even figured out how to get it in the window. Now comes the frustration. Book on how to assemble is small & drawing very poor.
made sure all the parts & screws were there. No left or right bellows, both the same. OK time to screw them down. They have been squashed so long can barley get the bellows stretched out. Moving right along, hard to line up screw holes, Holes that screws go in too big, any more than just snug & they want to strip
Had to similar AC's in the past, not near as heavy as this guy.

OH well life goes on.
Jim

Not a lot to say this AM.
1965. I have seen most old western TV & movie shows. Real life in those days was not much like shown. Almost every person Or family had a gun of some kind. Rarely if ever taken to town, unless it was in a vehicle. There were no quick draw holsters. # 1 Gun was generally a shot gun, could be used for defense of hunting.

I stared a thread several years ago think it Cowboys & brands show your pictures. Lots of real west stories there by several folks. You will probably enjoy it.

It amazes me how people with plenty of $$ think. Made a belt buckle for a friend, 9 inches across, brands all the way around it. In the center was a cow scull with a crack in, it was made to look like an old skull, he had. The on on the buckle was a long horn, his wasn't. Too big for me to cast, cost a lot to have someone else cast it. On & on. When he came to get it & I gave him the price, less than 1/2 what I should have charged, he had a fit, but did pay me & was always showing off his buckle & trying to make people think he made it.

Did a little clean up the AM, damm little, but that's better than adding to the mess. May live long enough to have this place fit for human habitation :laughing:

No rain last night, off to bank & maybe PO. Will be hot was 76 at 6 AM.

More later,
Jim

Lot of miles behind me today. Didn't start off too bad. Then I had bony chase me all the way to pavement.
Sort of warm, 75 when I started.
Went to bank & got debit card canceled, took a while, lots of forms to fill out & sign. Had a few $$ in account so took $50.

Went to PO, mailed TV. Must have had 1/2 roll of duct tape on the box holding it together. Friend at PO said he would put more tape on it. Still a little damp.
Went to Indian store & got a 30 pack.

Put some beer, ice & wet rags in little ice chest. Didn't use them until leaving Indian store, sure felt good.Uses both on way home.

On way to bank put $4 cash in truck. on way home put $5 cash as well. Pretty sure I had enough, but when gauge gets close to yellow, I get nervous.

Have a few little $$ left in case I need milk or ???

Thinking seriously about taking for Bony for a long ride keeps her from returning. Leave food on counter 2 minutes & its gone.
1# butter 1# cheese Pizza, can of spam that was open. really like her but this can't go on.

Spent over 1/2 hour picking ticks off Bobby. Damm sure wish there was a way to stop that. Will order some pills next pay day.

Sure be glad whe I can get back to fun & silly tall tales.

Tinatis in ears goes way down as stress goes down, well it is up there, just screaming.

Will be in pretty good shape $$ wise when get TV refund. Got other TV working all channels, but it started doing goofy things again. every channel shows up 2 times when menu is pushed. At least its working, Sound is pretty crummy as well.

More later,
Jim

Jim, The 2 channel issue is probably because you have a high def satellite box, it is showing both the standard definition and high def channel choices in the menu. If you have DirecTV try this:

Use "Menu" on the remote
Select "Settings & Help"
Select "Settings"
Select "Display"
Select "Preferences"
Select "Guide HD Channels" and "Hide SD duplicates"

Sound is often crummy on these slim HD TVs. Check the manual or look at the back to see what kind of sound output socket is provided and what you could plug in there. I hook mine into an input on my radio when I care about improving it. When the cash comes through should be able to pick up a sound bar or something compatible at Walmart for a reasonable amount.

Thank you I try those ideas.
