I have a JD 4110 with a 410 loader.

I never remove the loader and often use it to its fullest potential. Twice the hydrolics have gone out on this tractor. The quick connectors break, shutting off the hydrolic fluid.

So far I have broke a connector every 35 hours. Has anyone else had this problem.

I love my tractor but this is driving my nuts. Maybe I just hual too much weight too often. Then again I want a tractor that can take the same abuse as my toyota truck!

I've got a 4110, but I've only had the FEl off and back on a handful of times. I've never had any problems with broken connector pieces.
What parts are breaking and how and when do they break?
Just curious.

First I should probably mention that I have NEVER taken my FEL off.

2 nights ago I was moving 50-100 yards of dirt, when my main hydrolics went dead. My buck just drags on the ground like a limp arm. Right in the middle of opporation.

This happened once before and the JD dealer told me that the quick conect valve had a faulty pin. That time I was also move a simular load of dirt.

Like I said I work that tractor hard.

I kind of figured that if they had faulty quick connectors that others out there would be having simular problems. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I had a problem near one of my connectors on my 4300 a few months back. There was a small ring that held the spring in place which helped move the ball back and forth, (sorry about the poor description) Anyway the ring popped off, and apparantly this has happened to several Deere owners. The service guy came out and put the ring back in and everything has been fine since.

My guess is that the ring wasn't seeded properly from the factory.

I emailed JD about the problem. They called within 5 mins!

They said they have no record of this happening before. But that they would get right on it.

I will keep you all posted.

My problem was a little different. I started having problems with the loader lift cycle time. Long story short. The dealer was going to replace all the couplings on the loader for me if i took off the old ones and brought them in to him. When I took off the first one I found a small rubber hose scrap inside the coupling. Pulled it out and put the coupling back on and no problems since....

Where do the connectors break? I have a 4100 with a FE:L and never had a leak , break or problem. If the connecotrs break they must be under some kind of stress, the pressure inside the line should not cause that. I wonder if the lines are routed correctly. If not the stress on the connections could be causing the problem. My lines are attached to the FEL frame at several points with a short loop before it they connect to the quick disconnects on the tractor. That way there is little to no stress on the connections.

Mine are also attaced to the FEL in several places. Considering that I have never removed the FEL, I would assume they are connected correctly.

In the end I believe that JD has designed a part that is simply fragil. As you look at the inside of the connector you can tell that it is made from very thin gage sheet metal.

When it does break I never have any leakage.
