Bad luck weekend for me and M7040

Sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. I've noticed some days no matter what you do it seems you can't be successful and it's best to stop and take the rest of the day off. As for the hose, I would only use a zip tie as a temporary fix. The plastic will eventually deteriorate and the zip tie will break. Back to having fuel all over the place. Maybe someone with smaller hands can get a metal clamp on there for you?

Nope, they will be fine, the jetski I mentioned earlier was a 97 and the ties were original.

My Yamaha outboard had zip ties on the air intake hoses from the factory. I assume Yamaha expected them to last. I actually don't know if they would have because I had to remove the carb when the fantastic EPA-approved gas turned to jello in the jets.

I'm sure losing your dog was worse than all the tractor stuff. You can take some comfort that 12 years is a pretty good lifespan for a lab, and that she was well-loved and well treated.

Maybe depends on where you live or the quality of the tie? Here they only last a year or 2 through all the seasons when left outside. Of course they are not all created equal. HF ones are really crappy. The ones with the metal holding tabs seem to last a long time.

Regarding your dog, I believe dogs don't leave us. The level of attention and loyalty they demonstrate when alive wouldn't falter because of something so small as death.

We may not be able to see them with our eyes, but we can feel them in attendance just the same. It isn't denial of the existence of death, but rather recognizing that your senses of the animal still being around you - are far more accurate than our poor eyesight.

The clearest example I can give is this. How many times when your animal was alive, did he/she see or sense something you didn't. And then a few mintes later you FINALLY saw what the dog had much earlier.

Trust your eyes less and your other senses more - a wonderful dog wouldn't have left you in life. . . . . . And he/she hasn't left you in death either.

This reminds me of something I heard a while ago. Go to your favorite tractor store. Lock your dog and wife in the truck and come back in 1 hour. Then, see which one is happy to see you.

I balled worse than my kids when I loaded up the body of our 11'ish year old stray this year when she died on the first day of school.
