Tim, did you look at your Mahindra yet?? After this thread started, I checked my 6000 and guess what? there are hairline cracks on both sides, EXACTLY where Maine's are....I'm thinking this is a manufacturing blunder....It appears to be associated with the FEL as it bolts up to either end of the piece...my FEL is a 2002 KMM,,,it also appears that the frame has been changed since my Mdl264 came out...anyone else?? Rback...what say you? BobG in VA

Bob after I read this I shut the computer off and went outside with a flashlight. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have slept very well. Mine looks ok. I did find a small puddle of antifreeze so I'll have to see where that is coming from... Rain rain go away...

Bad news Bob. Good news Tim. Keep an eye on it.

As per "Hoosier Hay Man", does Mahindra really know bout a certain % of these castings failing? Why wouldn't they inform the tractor owners before someone gets maimed or worst? Imagine working the tractor and the front end just collapsing:eek:

Picture of grand daughter just because I could:D

Well since these mahindras are cracking, thought I'd say something that you all might want to do.

They make this stuff called dye penatrant, that you use for looking for cracks. Very simple to use, directions are on the cans.

Cheap,[well, compared to other type things like this]. You got three paint can size spray cans in kit,one is a cleaner, one is the red penatrant, and last one is a white develeper. you spray,[or paint the red stuff on,let it soak, wipe off all you can and can see, lightly spray the white stuff on,and if there are cracks, the red stuff is in them and the white stuff will draw it out so's you can see.

Why I'm bringing this up to you all is sometimes you can't see very fine tight cracks untill they are no longer fine and tight, and warrenty could expire on you before you noticed the crack.

Welding supply place could get you some,or if you know of somebody who works in a welding fab shop or something like that, they may have some. A set of these three cans would probably check many many tractors in areas that are cracking though.

I also have had a Mahindra for 3 years and they have been difficult ones. I have had numerous problems form major to minor including a crack that Mahindra refused to assist in the repair. The dealer I purchased the unit from is still a Mahindra dealer but I was told they do not support the line any more because of lack of support from the company. They are now selling the Bobcat line. The dealer was amiable to talk with about the problems but still wanted to charge me almost $500 just for pick-up and return of the tractor. Basically the message was they did not want to deal with it any longer. the dealer I took it to is a relatively new dealer of the Mahindra line and although he is a nice person to deal with, the response from Mahindra for any support was nil.
Last, the Mahindra parts I have had to purchase over the past three years have historically been expensive and Mahindra refuses to sell some components individually.

Something smells a tad fishy here....If you're gonna make such statements you better do more than "major to minor", where was the crack, oh, and what Mahindra do you have, what's the name of the so-called Mahindra dealer that miraculously still will sell them but won't work on them....hmmmmmm. My BS meter is starting to peg.....BobG in VA

Real fishy...it's worse than a hog farm here in Iowa. This guy has three posting, never heard a word from him before and every posting, all 3 is negative towards Mahindra. If this guy has problems then it sure sounds like one's of his own makings.

Now he has 4 postings and all bad mouthing Mahindra.

Your right, he appears to be looking up past posting regardless of the date and having something negative to say. If I didn't know better he might be related to an animal here in Iowa, but I've seen no indication that they can't work a keyboard..... tractors maybe.
