Where I have moved the oak leaves are abut to overwhelm me

I have used the cyclone rake and it is excellent. Large capacity, great suction works like a charm. I liked the cyclone because it folds flat for easy storage. However if I had the room I may have gone with the DR unit as I do like the durability of the hard side unit.

I would rather have one that hangs on the 3 point and is driven by the PTO
reason is the trailer type would want to jack knife when mowing around trees I have trees or I would not have leafs
and PTO so I don't need to feed and take care of another motor

Will the new bx1860 or whatever they are baggers not work on a 1800

The cyclone rake attaches to the tractor in two spots and utilizes swivel wheels so no jack knifing I agree a PTO driven unit would be nicer. And some one does make it but the company alludes me at the moment. I can't see why a bagger won't work. He may need to search out an older unit

I remember now...Its Trac-Vac that makes a PTO driven unit

Last I talked to Messick's they told me Kubota makes a kit to install a current model bagger on older bx's but not the old model bagger on newer bx's. So you should be in luck for a new bagger install on your bx unless you find a used one on CL or eBay. Baggers for a bx run north of 2k for a new one.

That kit would work I don't mind a new one if there is a kit. My dealer did not seem to know of one but then he says he never sales baggers so he is no expert one them so maybe I will try to contact Messick....thanks

So if I can't find one how do those sweepers like you jet at home depot work or are the a waste of money

I have a BX22 and was faced with the same problem. I almost bought a new bagger with an adaptor kit, but my dealer said he could not be certain it would properly mount to my tractor. I finally decided to post an ad on CL, and I found a good used unit, one of the early types with with a 3-Point mount and it worked out fine. I also investigated the tow behind VAC units and PTO driven VAC units, and didn't go that rout because of all the trees and tight spots on my property, although if I had a more wide open lawn, I think one of those units would be better than the bagger in terms of capacity...the bagger fills up fast when dealing with leaves.
