Get a torch, and braze on some carbide particles to the underside of the blade.
That is what both Cub Cadet, and John Deere did to mower blades to make them wear resistant.
the carbide also makes the blades self sharpening.
Instead of having to sharpen blades every 2 months of mowing, you simply install them, and the blades would erode away above the carbide, keeping the blade sharp.
After a couple or three seasons, the carbide finally wore away, the blades would be dull, and it was time to replace the blades.
It was nice to never need to sharpen the blades, unless a major rock collision occurred,,,
Troy Bilt also sold tines for the Horse tiller with the hard face welded on,, I have owned two sets of those tines.
If you look closely at the tines on the right, you can see the extra material.
These are able to last 3X (minimum) as long as plain tines.
