Baler's Share?

   / Baler's Share? #11
If you buy the rake and cutter, you might as well look for a good used sq baler. When I had hay fields, I did mine on the "halves" with a local baler. I supplied the land, he fertilized, cut and baled+ hauled his share out. I either hauled mine to the barn or hired 2 college kids I knew that had a loader, paid them 15 cents a bale. I averaged around 1500 sq bales per cutting if I didn't round bale it.

if you are going to do it your self. Add a hitch to the baler. Extend the baler chute. Buy a wagon. Then bailing becomes so much easier. Bales dumped on the trailer. All you do is stack them. Just remember keep turning right while bailing. Having more than one wagon keeps things moving. Doing it our selves has paid for the equipment.
