Ballast ballast box and quick hitch

The i-match in Canada was way more that 220$, something like 500$ I think. I bought a Speeco and have been pleased with it. I will need to modify a couple of implements to make them work, but that wouldn't be any different with a Deere.

I've seen the Speeco advertised for 89$ US, which is a great deal. If you don't like the color, blast it and paint it.

Speeco also makes the adapter bushings that make the connection interface much more stable, and are a good idea. Somewhere on TBN I have written the info for both CDN and US distrubutors.

Personally, I would go with Pat's Easy Change [mine is great] and I wouldn't bother with the JD ballast box. I would get a Rubbermaid trash can, or oil drum, pass a drawbar through it, drop some scrap steel plate in the bottom and fill the rest up with concrete. Oh, and before filling it, I'd put some casters on the bottom so it can be rolled around the shop.

This is the problem I referred to about the adjustment bolts I had to remove because the got in the way on the blade and rake. they would not allow the upper j-hook to engage the upper pin as the bolts obviously wouldn't fit in that channel where the upper pin is.

I was surprised as aren't many implements designed the same way with the mounting of the upper pins in a channel type frame?

I have had the HF quick hitch for about 2 years with no problems. I currently only have a ballast box so I have not had to alter anything. Painted green...looks like an I-match (maybe little bulkier) If you only have the ballast box I see no reason to spend the extra money. Put it towards another implement. Either way from following the posts here if you get more implements plan on having to modify something no matter which hitch you buy.

I am looking into wheel weights or bb myself. My roto tiller gets too beat up to use it as ballast and I need more weight than my back blade for pushing snow with the bucket.

I have seen the King Kutter quick hitch on the shelf at the local Fleet Farm but for a difference of $20 I bought the green one from JD. The KK unit looks okay.

I do the same thing, if the JD is close in price, I will but the JD, but if not, nope, i will go with a good aftermarket version. Like the Horst Pallet Forks I got.

I have the iMatch, tiller, ballast box, 45 (?) gallon sprayer, and a knock off rear blade.

The tiller came with iMatch bushings (or with the iMatcth, I bought them the same day) but the bushings for the tiller do NOT work with the ballast box, they do work with the sprayer.

I tried the hitch from the Tractor Supply Store, and returned it the next day. not even close to fit on ANY of the implements.

The only issue I have is the rear blade is from TSC and is not compatible. Have to find a way to make it compatible.

I love the iMatch, and makes my life a LOT easier... going to John Deere today to buy the bushings for the Ballast Box, and another set of "tiller like" bushings for the sprayer.

What REALLY sucks is the dealer is 1/4 of a mile away, and have to drive by it EVERY day to go anywhere. Now keep looking at new BIGGER tractors every time I drive by, or the new backhoe they just got in.. or any of 100 different items I'd like that I see in the grass when I drive by.

The bushings at TSC are a third of the cost from JD and in my opinion are better made.

I made an adapter for my KK Carry all- so that I can use my I Match. From what I have learned - by error and not by research here- is that the top hook on the I Match is 15" from the center on the lower pins ( this is ASAE standard)

It appears that some manufactures including KK do not always comform with this standard. I have heard this standard was self imposed by JD -I cant confirm this- interesting never the less.
