Thats a good idea w/the 4X4's......I was thinking I could put my orchard sprayer back there in the spring, so I figured I'd go w/the platform.....

Happy New Year.

put some 4x4's under your platform and on top of your carryall forks and you can drive away from your sprayer when done:) i don't have any info on a regular 3-point fork
setup. all i know is that TSC has the carryall for 69.99 and its well worth it. especially if you need to move a piano! :)

redhawk,
How did you get those limbs on your evergreen to grow upwards..
I bet its a lot easier mowing.

Do you know if the carry all comes w/ folding forks.

Here is a photo of the pallet forks / utility box that I use as a ballast box. I purchased the fork system and Freedom Hitch and built the utility box. The forks slide into channels under the box. It is very handy and serves as a small "pickup" for hauling firewood, tools, fuel, garbage cans, etc. around my property. I place front suitcase weights, old cast iron slabs and steel plates on the floor to provide enough weight for ballast. These weights are removed when hauling mulch or soil in the box. The box is 54 inches wide by 30 inches long and the removable sides are 22 inches high. The yellow racks in front of the forks hold rakes and shovels.

Jim, the only forks I've seen were about double the price of a carryall. The carryalls have holes drilled in them to add to their usefulness so platforms can be mounted on them.

Jack, thats a nice setup you have there, i especially like
being able to haul around some tools. what brand of tire chains do you have on your JD.

In the "Every little bit helps!" category:

Changing the barrel to horizontal will put the CG about 6" lower (= more stability).

Redhawk--The tire Traction Aids are made by Hemler Manufacturing of Lancaster, PA. They were ordered through a John Deere dealer. Contact Dave Anderson at Deer Creek Equipment, Oxford, PA. (1-800-255-6567). The photo was taken a year ago when there was very little snow. This past December we had over 30 inches and set a new monthly record for the Quad Cities (IL-IA), and those chains have really come in handy for snowblowing.

JackIL-
Thats a real nice setup you have there. It would be nice to have a little extra storage area too.
