Edge 52, she was probably listening to a book and was too enveloped in some sassy story. :p

I Like it, have only had for about 1-1/2 years and I mow probably 3 acres, every two weeks or so
It was a learning experience with hills, I figured out how to mow and it's good and quick.

I mow up and down, no slide slope at all or it will slide on wet grass

The battery is a fkn joke, it lasted until this spring and I went to replace it and it is the size of a power wheels battery. I replaced it with a normal 12V lawn battery.

I did find a 240 ammo can last year from where I rolled a truck 15 years ago, it chewed it up and spit it out.

Starts every time, I did bypass seat safety because it was too sensitive

Need to finish up chicken lot this weekend...

So been slowly working on the coop area, between fkn rain...

Got it cleared

I still need to straighten and shore up the 4 posts left...

The bucket waterer and the bracket I made years ago still work with no leaks

This morning snapped a picture of the 5 extra posts I put in

So, the rain has been relentless the last 2 months, I worked in the rain yesterday to let the chickens out to stretch their legs.

Stopped at local ace hardware to get chicken wire, all they had was "pre-stretched" I was like okaaayyyy. Don't ever buy this crap unless it during a plandemic or zombie apocalypse...

Got 1 row down just to let them out for a couple hours, I put logs at the base, I will do boards today.

1st time out, took 1/2 hr to get them all outside 🤪

I put some streamers up just to feel safer, I have to put up the next line of defense today....

Hope to get tractor out today if it's dry enough...

Oh, and 2 of the chickens are turkey's....oopsie TSC 😁

Since they have been raised together, hopefully they will continue to be chill with chickens....BUT...I think I will need a bigger door opening....do chickens and turkey's get along 🤔

   / Bansil's Shenanigans begin again.... #87
I have two turkeys with my chickens and they all get along great. The turkeys tend to get the best roosting branches to spend the night, but by the time everyone is on a branch, it's pretty crowded.

We just hatched three turkey eggs in our incubator and they are in with a group of baby chickens. Something we just learned is that turkey's require a lot more protein then chickens. Turkey feed is 30% and chicken feed is 18%.

When we first started with chickens, we didn't realize how important protein levels are. We mostly fed them Fancy Scratch, and treated them with 13% All Stock. Egg production was OK, we thought it was normal to get what we where getting. Then we learned that we where doing it backwards. Feed 18% protein and treat them with a little Fancy Scratch. Egg production doubled!!!!!

Great info we have been doing 16/18% will my door work or does it need to be taller and wider?

The 2 white birds were supposed to be some huge white chickens with legs covered in feathers etc....then we heard them last night making turkey noises :ROFLMAO:

   / Bansil's Shenanigans begin again.... #89
I would guess that the turkeys will figure out how to get through the door, but they are significantly bigger then the chickens, so a bigger door might be better. I use regular house doors in my coops, so it's not something I've dealt with.

What is your plan for your pasture?
It has been a pasture, Tabaco fields and last was potatoes...now back to Hay, I have a neighbor that hays' it for the property taxes, he gets 2 or 3 cuts and then bush hogs it before winter, takes good care of it, I want to keep it healthy incase the future leads to more animals again, I have roads around the outsides to get to barns and things, its longer but it gives up the hay...win...win
