Thanks for the comments. I got a little worried at how cheap my barn was and thought maybe there would be something dramatic that stood out as deficient to some of you when I posted my pictures. The C-purlin is 16 gauge and seems pretty thin but the completed barn seems pretty solid. And this guy has a ton of references that were all very happy with theirs years down the road, but I still was a little worried because the price was so low. I'm very happy with the end result though.
As far as the tree, it is a live oak tree that I paid $400 for 3 years ago and have been happy just to keep it alive! It is about 6' in front of the barn and I will try to keep it trimmed but I don't think I could cut it down.
