Barrel and rotary hand pump set up for Diesel - best parts to use

Did it work for you when it worked? All I need is to fill up a 7 gal tank on my tractor. Trying to keep it simple and find a good pump.

Yes. It did work pretty good. The one I used was locked up when I got it. I took it apart and cleaned it up and got working. This one really needed rebuilt.
I used it many times after priming and filled 20 gal tanks pretty quick it seemed.
The lever pumps work even faster, but that rotary pump will work fine too

I think you did good for $222. As far as the hand pumps , I've found the lever type to work better and faster than the rotary type

I ordered the rest of the parts today. A bung adapter to go from the 64mm course threads on one of the barrel openings to 2" NPT for the fill fitting. I picked up a cast iron Vent fill fitting at Tractor Supply - was on their clearance table for $10. It has a locking cap that also works as a vent. No sense locking it as it can just be screwed off.:laughing:

Last I ordered a yellow heavy duty plastic pallet off of Amazon. I did find them locally, but Amazon was cheaper and the local vender did not want to budge on price. I was used too.

So in about a week all the parts will be here and I can assemble it. I just need to pressure wash the barrel out.
