Basic Hydraulics Parts Reference

Does anyone know of a good reference publication that describes and explains the various types and function of fittings, connectors, valves, spools, cylinders. etc? Something a begining do it yourself type can refer to?

Something like hydraulic fittings 101. I'm not interested in becoming a hydraulic engineer but a detailed reference with pictures, definitions and
and typical diagrams could be a good reference.

You might want to get your hands on some product catalogs. When it comes to hydraulic fittings and adapters, these are very good references. Some companies include a wealth of information about their fittings. My own company goes for a more mininal approach, as feel our best customers are already knowledgeable about the parts they need and just want to find them quickly when ordering. Still you are welcome to look at our materials as well those of other companies.
