Basics on concrete and cinder block walls

In my area the large blocks are called ecology blocks and are the cheapest and best option for material bunks. If you plan on hiring material deliverd by dump truck a 10' wide bunk is better to be able to dump into the bunk without having to transfer the material with your tractor. You also need enough room for the truck to back into them without breaking down the edge of your driveway.

I second (or third) the prefab blocks.

Cinder block isnt gonna hold up well for a material bunk IMO. All the places that sell mulch and stuff like that around here, either use the prefab blocks, or some really heavy timbers.

Todays flier from Lowes advertises bag of Quickete (50 lb not 60 lb) for $1.89.

Just sayin.

I like solid concrete walls with 2 layers of rebar. I have seen too many basement walls made of block start bowing in. Just saying....
