From the article:
"Once again the company needed regulatory credits purchased by other automakers in order to make a profit. Without $1.58 billion in credits for the year, Tesla would have lost money. Other automakers buy the credits when they can't meet emissions and fuel economy standards."

So they are being helped significantly by government regulations that penalize ICE vehicle manufacturers.

This sounds positive for all kinds of EV'S especially planes trucks, ships and trains due lithium ion battery manufacturing short falls for the rest of this decade.

I wonder what form of ammonia they are using, anhydrous ammonia or aqueous ammonia.
Either way, you won't want to be around a filling station if they have a problem with the ammonia side of things.
