Hay Dude you will just keep on trucking by buying some cheap solar panels and charge you new F150 Lighting or Cybertruck using sunshine.

The big difference between the two of us is 2 years ago I woke up and read the memo that the ICE age was ending. :)
So...just out of curiosity, what are ya gonna do with all those tractors you have?

This is a great thread and you have been the king of it. But once in a while, you might want to check the downside of what you have so thoughtfully promoted.
Its very real and will have a profound affect on Americans. Abandoning the fossil fuel industry will shrink Americas power and standing in the world.
Who's talking about abandoning the fossil fuel industry. You know we cannot get to Mars without the fossil fuel in industry.

Some of us are retired and want to become more frugal when it comes to our car expenses.

Now, that part makes sense...

A LOT of very powerful people are talking about abandoning the fossil fuel industry! Turn on a TV or a radio sometime :)
If you are retired and want an EV, go for it, but forcing a “one size fits all” energy policy on us by allowing fuel to hit $5-$6/gallon rapidly is not going to help put food on your table.
And speaking of food, you do realize when fuel keeps going higher, you WILL pay more for it, right?

So you save money on fuel with your EV, but spend all the money you think you’ll save on more expensive food, goods and services????

hmmmmm, ok! Cool!

Drive them hopefully. What does EVS have to do with my five tractors?

BTW: you can be more frugal with car expenses and still drive an ICEV. Just buy one with a higher MPG rating and take less wasteful trips! :)

See heres where the disconnect comes in. EVs are fine. I’ll buy one when it helps America.
The problem is, a one size fits all policy of EVs and crazy expensive fuel is not the way to do it.
Leave us commercial and farming guys alone. You know, the ones that grow and deliver food, like so we ALL can eat for a reasonable cost?

Yep, remember Al Gore and his BS from a few years back? He made a lot of money off global warming...
Rahm Emanuel (one of the Clinton cronies) said it best..."never let a good crisis go to waste".
Those "powerful people" better be willing to make the first sacrifice...for example, get rid of their private aircraft and limousines. Fly public airlines and public transportation. In other words, put your money where your mouth is...

I don't do TV nor do I think talking heads are powerful people.

GM CEO is getting a lot of attention from high places claiming GM is going to kill off ICE production by 2035.

Fossil fuels are not going away so you do not have to sell all of your oil stocks. EV production requires fossil fuel and will for perhaps centuries to come.
