greater than 1/2 ton? well it would have to be bigger, better and stronger than Ford's Lightning.... How about Ford's new F250 electric for 2023.

I thought Tesla's new semi was behind because of no place to build it? They have their test models on the road already. Isnt the new facility in Texas where they will be building them?

I can imagine all kinds of crazy scenarios too, but it doesn't make them realistic.
Most electric car accidents don't result in fire, even in the older LiIon battery units.
Newer LFP batteries don't readily burn.

They need batteries. They've been road testing the Semi for while but I imagine they're taking advantage of the delay to do more work.

All this sucks for the people depending on their jobs in engine plants and working in the fossil fuel business. More of our vital railroads will go bankrupt. Tank car companies. Pipelines, tank storage facilities. I bet millions of jobs lost by the time it’s over.

Much of that “human capital” here in America will be jobs lost in large part to foreign built goods, especially electronics and assemblies for EVs, windmills and solar panels.

I feel sorry for these people and their families.

It would be easier on the American economy if we instead went nuclear for clean reliable American made power and make a slower phaseout of ICEVs starting with cars.
