Fuddy has a point if you only do long distance and supercharge only.

But
I have to believe most EV buyers charge at home as much as humanly possible.

I wonder what Gale's numbers are, since he does a lot more road trips than me. Has quite a few more miles rolled up as well.

Very true.
Our AEP rate (as of now)= 12.4c/kWh
Electric motors are way more efficient than IC engines.
What's complicated is high initial cost factoring in battery life and operating cost vs lower gas car initial cost factoring in oil changes and fuel costs as well as tire price difference. Very complicated, especially without using researc...I mean "word salad".
It all boils down to needs & wants.
An inexpensive EV adding 30-40 miles charged overnight may not be a bad grocery getter added to the mix. EV manufacturers should consider that. 150 hp or so fine for daily jaunts which means longer range as well.

A local seller had several car buyers buying them with less than 50 miles out of CA and shipping them back locally and pricing them for $76K. For a while they were making a lot of money off Musk until they were not. :).

The 2023 Tesla model Y is today's best selling ICE or EV in the world.
