CBC is not a "Fox" type organization. I am surprised they gave such a negative report on EV's.

Also, I did not know Canada had mandated 100% electric by 2035 but it seems to be true:

I am a dual citizen and will never go back to Canada for many reasons. The people are very nice, but most are too socialistic for my liking. They will get what they deserve by putting morons in power...just as we will.

I own three motorcycles... Kawasaki just released a hybrid sport bike. The mpg? 58-64
What's the point? My 900cc bike achieves 50... My wife's 400 achieves 70mpg? I actually love the idea of hybrid cars, but in a small frame light bike... Why? Virtue?

Yep, stock is down a bit, but they can afford to reduce profit margins on EV's where Ford, GM and others can't since they are losing money already.
Tesla makes far more per vehicle than BYD as well.
They are the leader and will continue to advance EV sales.
The less expensive EV is well into the design phase from reports and Tesla will start producing it at Giga Texas mid 2025. With all the other US EV makers esentially throwing in the towel for 2024 Tesla will likely increase market share like they did in December. That ship full of Teslas that was turned back due to beetles from Australia will also be unloaded and push up January's sales. Cybertruck production is sold out for all of 2024.
Tesla increased back up power supply production for grids and has back orders already.
Compared to Legacy auto makers, like GM robbing the Loan money funded by tax payers already given out as dividends instead of R and D or in long term growth efforts who looks to have a brighter future?
"Tesla stock is down a bit" is an understatement imo. TSLA is off over 30% from this date 3 years ago. It is off about 35% from 2 years ago. It is up 3% if you bought 1 year ago. It is off about 36% if you bought 6 months ago. It is off 26% YTD. All of those losses come with no dividend. payments. Ford on the other hand also has no stock price appreciation but have been paying a fairly consistent dividend over the same time period. Yes, Ford is currently losing money on EVs but so was Tesla for many years. It will be interesting to see what kind of margins Tesla can pull off on a $25k vehicle. Ford is currently developing their next generation EV truck. I wouldn't count them out of the race just yet.

On MY P's I actually agree with the 20 % less miles travelled. Price of admission for the available cornering ability. What I do not really agree with is Tesla's propensity to use overly large diameter wheels which results in more expensive tires. I dropped the wheel diameter all the way from a 21" to an 18" set of wheels so less expensive and Much better riding snow tires could be used. When the 21" summer tires wear out I may just buy more 18" tires for the aftermarket wheels, instead of buying $300+ 21" tires
Larger diameter wheels originated from the need for larger brakes for better stopping ability and lower brake temperatures under track conditions. But then like all things, this sets a trend in what a "sporty" car looks like, and then the vehicle designers copy those cosmetic details into lesser cars. Now, everyone needs 20"+ wheels, whether they actually need to clear brakes and calipers that large, or not.

Whatever... I honestly don't mind it on sporty cars. But where it really drives me nuts, is that it appears every pickup truck owner under a certain age is now putting these 30-series tires on their trucks. Stupid.

WawaJake should find this one interesting

CBC News, Canadian public broadcast?

They are calling for a cold weather range sticker. I agree.

One guys Ionic battery failed he has waited a year driving an ICE car already in the "interim" not sure he even has his car back yet. Since once they installed a new battery a new problem showed up.

Yes I saw that earlier this month, and yes that is a very left wing news source that admits EVs not capable of Canadian winters and distances.

Wait!?!? Since it's MSM doesn’t mean lies and the opposite is true, now EVs are great!

Remember the media can't be trusted, unless it supports your currently held position.

As EVs gain adoption Tony Seba said crude oil price should become $25 a barrel long term. I am interested in knowing why?
