What's a good replacement battery for this tractor that fits? How many CCA do I need?

Thanks.

Measure the battery mounting space and buy the Largest that will fit...
You can't have too much battery.
Kenny, thanks for message. I've measured the area and am trying to find a battery that will fit.

take your measurements to anyplace that has a battery display, try to get the Heaviest battery that fits... You are buying lead. There are ways to make a porous lead plate that 'looks', on paper, like it will produce more cca ... but in actual use the Heavier battery will out last the lighter lead acid.

Measure the size of the battery you have then buy a good AGM type to replace the wet cell you probably have. AGMs put more battery in less volume, they are maintenance free, you can mount them on the side if you need to because they are spill proof, they are less prone to damage from shock and vibration but they do cost more than wet cell batteries. Once you have your battery, I suggest you install a maintenance charger and keep it plugged in during long periods of disuse to maintain charge on the battery. If there is no electricity available where you store your tractor, there are solar chargers available, neither cost a lot and are cheaper than replacing batteries. Keeping it fully charged will make most batteries last much much longer. Letting batteries run down through disuse and insufficient charging or only partial recharging leads to an early demise for most batteries.

Of the AGM types, I prefer Odyssey over Optima for several reasons. Extreme Series Battery Specifications – ODYSSEY battery

I found an Interstate that fit our G5200 nicely. You'll want to get one with the terminals arranged a certain way to ensure that the terminal cable clamps reach while staying a good distance from the sheet metal - especially the fan shroud. It's tight. If you're still trying to pick one out, I'll see if I can find the receipt or take a few snaps. I love out G. Once the starter motor was replaced it's been happy to start, every time.

I'll find a battery. Have enjoyed my G6200. It's front end is a little loose, and I also had to replace the starter. Bought a BX2670 a few years ago with a bucket loader, rear blade and 60" mower. Shudda had something like that years ago.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Found a Duracel 51F at Sam's club. Fits fine. Works great.
