Battery problems

i was starting to have starting issues on my kioti a few months back. everything was tight, and it was intermittent. while cleaning battery posts, i looked at date stamp.....7 years old. oops. i let that slide thru crack. picked up a new 800 cca interstate battery to replace the old one..what do you know...no more starting issues.

The original battery in my DK 35 went 11 years before it failed.
Never did get weak. When it failed it failed immediately.
Started right up one day a few days later-nothing and refused to take a charge.
Still can't complain 11 years is pretty good. Never had a battery tender on it.

I've owned my pickup truck 22 years, still running on the second battery.
First one went 10 years the current one has been in there 12 years and still going strong.

I'm not the cheapest around (as advertised). But thinking of raising prices next year.

Haven't directly asked, but have had customers comment on some of the "cheaper" sellers out there. And it's low quality, junk wood, green unseasoned, or not a full cord. Lots advertising a thrown on pickup load as a cord. Not even close. My 7x12 trailer tossed in with a little mounding....that's a cord.

I’ve raised my price since the start of this season. I was selling more than I could provide by significant percentage. Now I’m charging $50 a rick plus a dollar a mile delivery 2 rick minimum for green wood. Wood sales are closer to what I can sustain. This is a 3 rick load and 3 rick is a tad more than a cord.

Rick is another term for face cord, or rack, or a handful of other names I have heard.

A TRUE cord is 4x4x8......128 cu ft of STACKED wood.

A "face" or rick, rack, etc is simply 4x8 stack of wood. (NOT a volume measurement). So volume is depends on cut length.

For $50 a rick, I'd take 4' long splits any day of the week

If cut length is 12" .....a rick is 1/4 of a cord
If cut length is 16", a rick is 1/3 of a cord
If cut length is 24", a rick is 1/2 cord.

Assuming 4570man is cutting 18" lengths if 3 ricks is a tad more than a cord.

I deliver a full cord at a time. Charge $160 per cord delivered within 15mi radius for free. Beyond that its $2 per one-way mile.
One of the deliveries was 30 miles door to door. So thats 15 miles over. (round trip being 60mi) Charged $190.

Those who say you cannot haul a full cord on a regular pickup without racks.....you can. But you have to know what you are doing.
