Battery went bad but now is good?

My experience was the $5 HF 1amp mini-charger boiled the water out over several months if it was left on for weeks at a time. On the tractor with backhoe that is seldom run. Hmm. I see they are now 400ma and twice the price. And every one of the five Most Recent reviews all said DOA, useless. Maybe that's why my store says 'back in stock soon'.

I now use a Battery Minder. I see its price has doubled too.

That's not how batteries work, you're describing connection problems.

I had the same problem OP for 16 years and finally found the bad “connection.” It was under electrical tape on a small wire between the starter to the switch.
