anybody know what kind of battery to put in the ct440.....there is zero markings on the original.

There are several ways of doing this. Measure length, width and height and buy a battery based on that. Take the old battery with you when you buy a new one and match it that way. The owners manual usually indicates the battery capacity in amps or cca's or sometimes even a part number.

I usually just take the old battery to the store with me and have them get me the highest CCA's they have in that size battery.

I bought some battery cleaner from lowes....sprayed my whole battery with it waited 5 minutes and washed it off. I was surprised how good it did. when I get home ill try and look for name but if not just ask them for battery terminal cleaner.

I put in a Exide AGM 24f just yesterday. Been meaning to for quite some time. I got my tractor in 2011 and only had acid leak the 2nd summer. Luckily I was aware off the issue and had the composure to check. I used a little battery cleaner and escaped damage with no other occurrences on the frame but the battery had always shown signs of leakage on its case. Slight dampness and staining as it had when I brought its core in. Stroke that off my list.
