does a older Kubota tl 420 have a positive ground electrical system or a negative ground system. the model is b20bh

Isn't the TL420 just the loader? Would it have any electrical at all?

Being 1990-1998 and 12 volt, I'd say almost certainly negative ground if it is a U.S. marketed tractor.

Positive ground was common up until the 1950's when automobiles and farm equipment changed from 6 volt to 12 volt electrical systems. There were some holdouts in the automotive world, including a few European and a couple of Japanese makes, but by the late 1960's pretty much everything had 12 volt negative systems. Since Kubota started selling in the US in the '70's, I don't think anything they officially sold here was not 12 volt negative. Can't say about a "grey market", illicit import, but unless someone has totally boogered up the electrical system (that's a technical term :laughing:), it's a virtual certainly your B20 from the 1990's has a negative ground.

yes I was wrong the model is a b20 bh. also I found out it is a negative ground system. that is why it had multiple electrical problems I am working then out as I speak. thanks to everyone who got back with me.
