About 15 acres. But it's not pasture, it's "lawn". I mow it once every 2 weeks or so. Yes, I'm a glutton for punishment. Or maybe I just like sitting on my tractor.

ahhhh well that sound like a sweet job, i dont like what i have to mow its more of a burden than a pleasure its actually kind of stressful

Thinking about the correlation between field mowers and lawn mowers, a commercial 48" zero turn lawn mower is usually in the 25 to 27 hp range.
That would equate to 75 to 81 hp for a 12' field mower. Probably not a good comparison, just thinking out loud here.

When I used to cut our unused fields once a year with my 14 or 16 foot bat wing, the boredom was almost too much. I don't know how farmers do it!

Our tractor showed 70 something pto hp on the dyno which always seemed too much power and wastefull for my batwing, yet one guy with 45 pto wanted to buy the mower and it was quite under powered for cutting his green horse pastures.

i dont mind when its good equipment good conditions but when you are on the edge of the tractor/equipment capabilities and you have to watch for everything outside as well as inside with gauges/temps it gets a little overwhelming in those conditions, i usually list to a lot of talk radio in good conditions and enjoy the weather - its good time for thinking
