LoL...What it's going to cause is a mad rush to stockpile the product...track the sales on their quarterly reports if you want to watch...!
Nah. Glyphosate has been out of patent for years. I never buy the Monsanto/Bayer product because Roundup is more expensive than the generic chemical.

I'm thinking this is at least partially a marketing move to go to a new product with a new patent.

'Look, over there behind the glass, a real blade of grass that isn't affected by our new product, the latest greatest, safest, greenest, more effective than ..... , and the bestest part of all (for us) is that you can't get it from anyone else. Come and see the show!!!'

I wouldn't doubt that.

Profit is gone for Bayer. When I first bought Roundup it was about $1 per ounce, now glyphosate concentrate is about $45 for 2 1/2 gallons or 7 cents per ounce. A good PR move for Bayer as the concentrate is Chinese of course.
Meanwhile they will sell it to commercial guys like me. Someone growing a few thousand acres of "Roundup Ready" corn will still be buying it in huge volume, it will still be in the food chain, if it really is, and the wackos will be happy. There is a lot of hypocrisy in our world.

They are not worried about the short term issues. The long game is their concern.
Keep buying up the competition no matter how lame they are until you control the market.

Maybe. But —-

That hurts when the markets are at all time highs.

Wait. You say it’s $45 for 2.5 gallons equals $.07 per gallon?

The math does not quite work.

Do you mean ounce?

I don't agree with the way that Monsanto (now Bayer) has touted it as a cure-all for all of your weed woes. However, properly used it's one of the safer herbicides out there. This is going to cause more problems than it solved in the long run.
Agree. Greedy, dishonest or uncareful people going into deep pockets causing us all problems.

Consider how many activities are restricted because of liability concerns. "Don't let people ride your horse"... "Don't plow neighbor's driveway..." "don't ..."

I just read: Local fire dep't stopped helping install baby seats because of liability

Tort laws should have loser pays winner's legal costs. Then injured get real help, reduces money grubbing claims.
